Archive for February, 2010

The Reyes Family is such a joy to photograph. They’re filled with so much personality, spirit, and life! For part two I started at their house while little Anouk played in the snow. Leland looked so adorable in his little hat! We then ventured on to The Most, a children’s science museum. It was great watching the kids “oohh and ahhh” over everything. Next we shot at The Mission, a Mexican restaurant that is awesomely authentic. We spend part of the time eating and the rest of the time shooting on their beautifully colored walls! By the way, if you ever want a great glass of hot chocolate go to The Mission! Seriously, it was the best i’ve ever had! MMMM! We ended back at the Reyes home to get some more shots of Leland. His dimples are just too much!

I really love going on adventures with families. It makes the experience so much fun for everyone involved! Really, who wants a cheesy “pose in front of a back ground of falling leaves” shot when you can have these?!

Juliana Brady : Real Beauty

February 25, 2010

If you’ve been keeping tabs on my blog posts then you’ve met Juliana before. She was one of my beautiful 2009 brides! She and her husband Dave had an amazing wedding and I fell in love with both of them!  So when Juliana needed new headshots for her auditions she came to me! Awesoooommmeee!!!

The day itself went well….until….my camera broke in the middle of our shoot! (GAH! Really?) My second body had broken the week previous too! So I literally could do nothing but apologize like a fool and reschedule. Luckily Juliana and Dave love me just as much as I love them and they were good with continuing their shoot at a later date. Preferably one without snow on the ground! This doesn’t happen often, and I’m greatful it happened now and not at a wedding! So now I have 3 cameras, 2 in working condition ready to go, and 1 that will be fixed soon and will be the triple backup! So do not fear, this WILL NOT happen again!

We did manage to get some great shots before the camera died though!  I can’t wait to see what we get next time around! Woohoo!

Welcome back! This is part 2 of the Shroyer saga! I just love talking about this family! They’re so wonderful!

This post is dedicated to Ami Shroyer and her beautiful spirit, talent, and heart!

The main reason I was in NC back in November was to take pictures of Ami for her new CD. We had so much fun going to consignment stores in search of outfits, looking for peace signs everywhere, getting fake eyelashes put on, and bashing around Winston Salem looking FABULOUS! I really feel like our friendship went up a level that week. I got to know Ami like I’d never known her before, it was beautiful!

She’s so in love with Jesus. When you listen to her music you can’t help but love Him more too! When you sit and talk with Ami you see how big her heart is and how much she adores doing Gods work. Her family reflects the same. They’re a family for God that I hope to have myself one day.

Ami’s album is called 40,000 Reasons. It’s a beautiful collection of old and new songs that encompass her life and encourage others to draw closer to their Savior. Visit her website and buy the CD! You wont be disappointed! Every time I listen I’m compelled to spend even more time with my Jesus. It prompts reflection, stillness, and joy!
