Each time, I return to NY with a jumble of emotions and a brain buzzing with ideas! I always feel like I’m going to conquer the photographic world, only to find that in a few short weeks to have forgotten that feeling and gone back to shooting what is safe. Now, safe isn’t a bad thing. I create lovely pictures for my clients and I know that they love them. I really have been blessed with you all! But for myself, as an artist, I don’t want to be safe. I don’t want the tension in my gut to go away this time. I want to question why I shoot the way I do, why I run my business the way I do, why do I see the way I do. Sure I can take pretty pictures, get on wedding blogs, maybe even win some awards (if I tried), but what is it all for? Why am I doing this? The answer for me is to bring God glory! He spoke very clearly to me back when I was just getting my feet wet in the photographic world. He said, “Show my children how beautiful they are…show them how I see them.” Back then I only understood a small fragment of that command. I still only understand a small fragment of it…but I feel as though I’m on the verge of seeing past what is right in front of me into something deeper.

I’m not sure what this all means yet. I know that I am, in more ways than one, at a crossroads. There is going to be a lot of soul searching, a lot of changes, and no doubt a lot of tears. Going from good to better isn’t easy. Change is ugly and painful, but when the dust settles I’m sure that the result will be a beautiful one. Thank you for taking this journey with me. I can’t guarantee that I’ll make a habit of blogging more personal posts, but I can guarantee that when something officially changes…you’ll be the first to know.

Well, to answer your questions:

You’re moving?!  - Yes!

Where? – Greensboro, North Carolina!

Why? – For several reasons, but the biggest is that I have a great opportunity to help some friends in that area as well as expand my business!

When? – Currently there is no set date, but my aim is for February 2013

How? – Preferably by my car…walking would take me awhile.

Ok, ok so yes, I am moving and It’s come about rather quickly and not without some serious prayer and consideration. I can tell you that it’s been interesting trying to finish up wedding season and trying to plan a move at the same time…Can we say mental break down? uhhhg!

Here are some more answers to questions you may have:

What does this mean for your 2013 weddings? – The weddings that I have currently on the books I will be holding to. I  plan on coming back up to NY in June and staying through the majority of my wedding season.

Are you still booking in NY? – I am currently booking here in NY, but only through certain dates. If you have a wedding date from June 2013 through September 2013 I will be here in the area.

What if I’m getting married in 2014? – Do not fret! My goal is to keep a presence here in NY, that means I will need to shoot at least 3-5 weddings a year here in the CNY area. So please inquire!

What about your Lifestyle clients? – Any current clients that have scheduled shoots I will be holding to or rescheduling.

Are you still booking Lifestyle clients? – Yes, if we can arrange the shoot for the times I will be in NY then I have no problem booking.

How often do you plan on being in NY? – Other than the upcoming wedding season I have no set dates for when I will return to NY. Although ,my family and friends are in the CNY area and I plan on visiting them for most major holidays. Otherwise I will be posting both here on my website as well as on my Facebook fanpage any dates I plan on returning and will be available to shoot.

What about Travel fee’s? – Currently there will be no additional travel fee’s – although this could change

I am so so so SO SOSOSSOSOSOSOSOSO thankful to my family, friends, NY clients, and fan base! You have been a constant encouragement and literally the loves of my life! My experiences here in NY can never be replaced and I will hold you all very near and dear to my heart! I hope to continue staying in contact with you all, even if it’s vicariously through Facebook! To say that I will miss NY can’t even begin to accurately describe how I will long to see you all, take pictures of your smiling faces, and laugh, laugh, laugh at some many wondrous things. As this chapter closes I am looking to the next one with just as much excitement as fear. There are so many new adventures to be had and I hope that you’ll all still take part in them, even if it’s just here on the blog. Thank you again for everything my friends. I love you!
